Figured we should move from the premiere thread.

This thread is for questions, comments, etc. Spoilers are a given (but no spoilers of episodes past the current episode of the current season).

Listen tonight

I hear good things about this one. Supposed to be in the vein of Blink. Looking forward to it.

This is probably my favorite episode of the new ones I watched from the leak.

SPOILERS:

I fricking loved that episode.

It's not "Blink," but I don't think it was trying to be.

Clara continues to be great

Loved the misdirection at the end.

Loved the little "cameo"

A lot like "Midnight" (I think they even reused a visual)

I think last week's ep was a blip in this Doctor's character. Back to what he was in 1 and 2.

I'm loving the facial comedy with Capaldi. Haven't had that since Donna's season.

That episode should win awards. Lots of awards (even in the US)

Are these on the web anywhere? I hate that it conflicts with LSU football. To be honest I hadn't watched an episode in years but watched the premier with Capaldi because he's great. I was impressed with what Dr. Who has evolved into and really like Clara as well as Capaldi.

OnDemand in the US. BBC iPlayer over here. Netflix has all the old New-Who stuff (except a couple of the specials for some reason?) and some of the Classic-Who.

I loved it.

Spoilers:

It threw me when it didn't end being the sort of episode I expected, at all. I expected blink after the trailers and little talk I had heard. But it had a very different feel, and I loved it. The scene in the boys home was so incredibly well executed and frightening, even though I knew to some extent what was coming. Thoughts on explanations for this scene? I have a sneaking suspicion that the doctor grabbed a kid, brought him to the room after convincing him to play a prank, all to make his point about fear. I hope they don't reveal the monster if it was one. It will never be as scary as it was in that scene. I liked how the episode shifted to an analysis of fear itself, and how it stayed character centric (budget conscious). I continue to like how much classic who they keep referencing. I think the line about about companions and fear was from an unearthly child.

I think it was just a kid, but they definitely left it open to pretty much anything.

I'm going to be pissed if they kill off Clara. If this is her final season, the character deserves a happy ending.

Nick Frost is going to be in the Christmas Special

Well we know for sure that the doctor intentionally set up that guard and tried to frighten him. This was immediately preceding that scene and I think gave a clue. Then Clara unintentionally became the monster under the doctor's bed. I do hope they don't try to definitively explain all of the happenings in the future.

Well she to survive long enough to have a kid, anyway.

No kidding?!?! Awesome.

Not necessarily.

95% sure. He's been in Cardiff (actually saw him Sunday), he's been with the DW people, and he's been seen in a Santa-like costume.

Well, true. This is Doctor Who, after all. Any number of timey wimey explanations could be invoked. But I do hope the ending for her if it is coming (don't tell me if you know for sure) is at least slightly happy. I wouldn't have cared too much if she had died in time of the doctor, but this year so far she has been outstanding, and I think she adds a lot to the show.

Simon Pegg appeared in an episode, Nick Frost is going to appear in an episode...the next step is to get Edgar Wright to direct a Doctor Who episode. Shoot, The World's End was basically a Third Doctor story

Talk of Clara being gone ALREADY?!

noooooooo. She was just getting a personality after being blah while impossible. Is that why they are cramming Pink down our throats?

On a side note...

Amy Pond in GOTG. WOWSER.

I have a suspicion that they're going to go with a character we'll be meeting in a couple weeks (not Danny). Just my suspicion. I hope beyond hope that they don't get rid of Clara, but, if they do, I hope they at least give her some sort of happy ending.

Spoiler

This was the best episode since the revival. We not only got an episode that showcased the sort of character Capaldi's doctor is, but one that contained genuine scares, time travel and a massively poignant ending that resonates with long time fans of the show (seriously the Hartnell hair may be the best cameo in the entire show).
I love how not only was this an incredible episode, but also made "Day of the Doctor" that much better by adding relevance to the old abandoned barn.

That red blanket scene shite is terrifying.
