LSU tailgating is really down from what it was 3-4 years ago. Should be plenty of good spots to park at Parker Coliseum, Levee Lots, etc...

Can you set up a tent on Friday for tailgating on Saturday?

Chicken needs this to the auto post to every tailgate thread. I have seen this post every year since I started lurking in 2003

Depends on where you tailgate. Hayfield lot by baseball stadium is solid if you are on that side of campus. Not sure how full some of the lots across from walk ons will be by 8 for the first SEC home game at night. May be able to find a spot over there.

Thanks for all the answers so far I guess the other part of the question i should have asked is whether it is ok/allowed to set up tent/bbq pretty much anywhere that we park on campus. I apologize in advance for my ignorance.

no worries, they made some change this season so some areas are off limits to park...law school area or nicholson/burbank area by old 9 is your best bet for what you want.

I see old front 9 on the map is that a good place to set up shop? Is 8 oclock early enough to get a spot.

People will not give you free shite, no matter how they try to make you perceive it's one big party.

I'm not sure. We just moved spots to that area this year and haven't had a REAL home game yet so I don't know. Maybe try a little earlier like 7.

If you park over by the law school around 8am for a 6pm game, you should be fine. You can also park near the rec, but there isn't much going on there, typically.

So 7 oclock old front 9 and set up tent with bbq pit there does this sound like a solid plan to you more veteran tailgaters

And if someone asks you to move out of their spot don't turn into a hardass just smile, move and join their party.

I tailgate in that area and it took me a year to find the spot I liked that didn't conflict with established groups.
