Sunnto is promising but they get pricey. I like the G-Shock look for digitals. Only G-Shock I saw was pricey and had a ton of features I have no interest in.

I love my Garmin ... not the basic one but not the fancy schmancy one ... I have the 210. Think watch and hr strap were $250 but I should have bought from Garmin -- refurbished on Amazon with the same warranty.

Easy to use ... everyone I know has Garmin.

I don't want a heart rate strap.

sorry ... wasn't really aware that they made them without having to wear a strap. I didn't think I'd like it but I don't even notice it's there.

How accurate are the watches?

Thought the watch could on its own.

I don't know about ALL brands but I want to say there are some that do NOT but iirc the accuracy wasn't great ... maybe you had to stop and mess with it or something?

IDK ... I just know that Garmin is great and they have straps. Sorry. lol

(Mine is a soft strap ... honestly can't tell that it's there; I'm female and it's under the band of a sports bra and I still don't notice)

I was advised by health nuts the strap was the way to go.

Have a timex with strap. Its ok, but not accurate when swimming.
