This is not an antiObama thread. The two parties can now wave at each other in the mirror. This is a war on mind control. We have been going down this hole since an actor took over presidency and read his pre written speeches with close coaching. The media is the enemy, the enemy is controlled by money, the money hires the president, the unknown provides the money.

How can you trust anything?

The one big example being the blatant IRS stuff that is continually ignored

My point exactly. Everyone needs to realize that we all have a common enemy....the parties we support.

I have a fundamental mistrust in the US Government, but we seem to have radically different understandings in the way it works.

America lost her way a while back. It's truly sickening, IMO.

In. And not proud anymore. Sad but true. When people start with the "love it or leave it" stuff, I just don't feel it anymore.

Please elaborate. I am, in no way, a political science expert.

You only need to trust yourself, regardless of where you live.

Nothing huge. I have found that expanded Government inherently lends itself to incompetence.(With varying degrees based on who has majority rule in the 3 branches) And based only on what I read in your OP, you find expanded Government inherently malevolent. But hey, I don't know you or anything.

That is insightful and true, but when you are enslaved by an organization with unclear motives, something needs to change.

The government has never been trustworthy. No government ever will be. The last trustworthy President was Washington.

Just like the last trustworthy journalist was Larry from PC Beach. Who doesn't trust a football analyst with Chinese pugs?
