Under him the NFL is printing money.

What has he done to get fired? Lied? Coaches lie every week.

Just wondering.

I wouldn't want him fired. I'd just want him to slow his roll a bit.

Why do so many people think Roger is the reason for this.

Or that it stops when he's gone, them TV contracts weren't contingent on him being in charge.

Nobody does. But generally, people don't enthusiastically get rid of the leader while the entity is kicking arse.

I like that he is finally under the gun. He has been walking around swinging his dick like he invented football and the NFL. Maybe he will cool his jets

He has reached the point where he has zero credibility in the public and with the press that reports on him. The 8-year media honeymoon is over. They have lost the PR battle.

That's where it's over.

Maybe Goodell should have warned Ray Rice not to get so caught up in the arse kicking. Seriously, fire this chump. The NFL will print money with or without him. In fact, they'd probably get even more support if he were shipped off.

Could be. It's a rocky place right now. Whether he can weather it, I don't know.

Another point: Brandon Merriweather is on twitter (jokingly) demanding that he get his fine money back.

The players aren't afraid of him anymore and every judgment he makes from here on out will be endlessly scrutinized and maybe even challenged.

This. I truly believe he is fricked in the next contract negotiations. Even if the NFLPA doesn't have a real problem with him, this whole ordeal has given them an inordinate amount of ammo and leverage - leverage that they wouldn't have had without this colossal frick up.

Responsibility comes from the top down. The NFL isn't any different.

More than anything, it's the lampoons that will do him in. He will be the butt of every comic's joke and being continually laughed at isn't a good look for the Commish.

the NFL has reached that point where... as commissioner... as long as you don't royally screw up you can't mess up

you're right... there's labor peace and money's (still) flowing like Willy Wonka's chocolate river... but now there's serious credibility issues w/ him

the handling of this could seriously impact the influx of sponsorship money... and the owners know this... if sponsors start bailing then Goodell will have to go 1 way or another
