no cause the mouth doesn't extend to the eyes and the spot on his tail gives him away

No it doesn't. Not the same color & no stripes. It does have the dot on its tail though.

There are a few different varieties of peacock bass, some with stripes some more solid.

Ok, that one looks similar.

I knew it wasn't a largemouth, just wasn't sure it was actually a peacock.

Any idea where it was caught. Peacocks are in S. Florida but, I wasn't aware of them being anywhere else. I would love to catch one.
