Social media and a political future

How will any kid growing up today run for political office? Their entire lives are lived out in social media, complete with all of the photos and posts that they will regret someday. That stuff doesn't go away either. Even if they are incredibly careful with what they post, everyone has an idiot "friend" that posts questionable stuff that will be connected to them because they are "friends".
The attack campaigns in 20 years will be something special

20 years? Less time than that. Its going to be interesting.
I was thinking about some of the text messages I've sent and I thought "I could never run for office, ever. Not even assessor."

On the flip side maybe we will quit caring about inconsequential unimportant personal bullshite and put people in office who are qualified to do the job to which they're elected.
Or maybe people will quit being such terrible pieces of shite if their lives are documented.
Realistically however, it will just be stupid shallow immature political attack add fuel which furthers the ruination of our country.

It's actually going to make politics very uninteresting since elections will be based solely on irrelevant controversies trumped up by private capital. Yawn. Just another reason to disconnect from politics, which is unfortunate.
Discourse is dead. Welcome to the infotainment era, it is just getting started.

The tools that run for office are not the type putting all of their shite out there even in high school. It takes a special kind of egomaniac to strive for political success, and it is there and recognized early on.

I think it'll have an overall positive effect on politics. Pretty soon people will realize that everyone is a shitty person and you should vote for someone based on their ideas, how they would enforce those ideas and how they will impact the population. Not their personal behavior which will not affect the voting populace.
