I think we'll load the box on SEC teams

I think our secondary is good enough to allow us this luxury. The second half of the Wisconsin game is our defensive blueprint for the rest of the season until the d line comes up to LSUs usual standards. If it all does come together this year and we're still at 0 or 1 losses then watch out. This is a supremely gifted team with one of the best coaching staffs at their back. Very excited about this season. More so than a month ago.

I have the same feeling. This team could be special. The talent is there as is the will to win. It is the first really solid LB corp for a while and combined with the secondary, could be scary good. Depends on how hard they work though.

its interesting. we've seen team put 8,9, and shite 10 or 11 in the box against us, but we seem to always play honest a lot of the time.

Even against teams we could probably lock up in the passing game with 8 or 9 in the box.

Not that we won't on occasion, but our toughest opponents in the SEC run spread type offenses.

Even Bama is using the horizontal passing game almost exclusively at this point.

Nickel and dime will be prevalent.

If our dlinemen dont start getting pressure, it doesn't matter how good our CBS are. Even the best cbs can't cover a wr for ever.

If you load the box and keep them in 3rd and medium to long situations consistently, then I like our odds. Bama will be the ultimate challenge again because they can run on an 8 man front.

So, you want us to load the box against teams running the spread? They would just love to play against your teams , Coach. Give us your resume.

I think we've found a guy who can get to the QB. Look for #58 to get a lot of playing time going forward.

All 58 needs is for the offense to blow their assignments.

There's a difference between a great play by our team and a bad play by the other team.

Tehuma's first sack was the result of two blockers going after #13 (iirc) and letting him go unblocked to the QB.

His second sack happened when the left tackle engaged him and then passed him to the RB who wasn't there. Again, Tehuma ran unmolested to the QB.

I'm rooting for the guy, like all the players, but please give this a rest. This is how stupid myths are created, like Reid takes bad angles, and Mathieu is a liability in coverage.

I agree however I think we need to find a #1 safety opposite of Mills. Martin cannot flip his hips well enough to be a reliable guy in coverage. I hope Adams grows in the system or Jefferson emerges, personally.

Dwyane Thomas is a freak this year. He could have a mega Ron Brooks type season.

I agree that they were blown assignments. However, we've all seen many a player have that opportunity and whiff on the quarterback. He finished the plays when he had opportunities.
