The myth that he is the next great offensive lineman hasn't come to fruition just yet. The glaring difference when he is on the field as a center compared to when Porter is on the field is unmistakable. In my opinion it is the reason for so much confusion in the Wisconsin game and probably more of the same this week against an inferior opponent.

He was blown off the ball and missed assignments the entire first half of the game last week and also the one game he started last year when Porter was injured.

Porter will be the starter as soon as he returns or at least by the time LSU plays an SEC contest.

Miles is so good at deflecting attention from weak areas of the team that he has everyone believing in Pocic, but I just didn't see it on the field.

I believe it was a group effort on the O-line that sucked! Wasn't just Pocic. But i did see La'ell get a few pancakes!

The kid is only a sophomore and yes he will be the next best offensive lineman and he won't IMO be playing center. He has tackle written all over him.

Was at the game and can tell you it was the whole line, not just Pocic. Wisky was shifting multiple times before the ball was snapped, including almost at the snap. Didn't adjust until after halftime, even with the long run in the 3rd qtr.

In defense of the OP the center makes the calls, and he didn'y play impressively by any measure.

However, I think the scheme the Badgers employed on D had every blocker confused. They simply outsmarted us until they lost the NT. I hope we used this as a teaching tool.

I saw guys from the OL,TE, and FB position miss blocks they routinely made last year. I think part of it was thinking Wisconsin lost their front seven last year and looking at the listed weights of the new Badgers group.

Our game plan was obviously to beat these guys into submission. I think and certainly hope we will see a great deal of improvement the rest of the way. I say this knowing we are on film now.

Yes Wisconsin was shifting and it gave us a lot of problems early.

The senior NT was giving him a lot of trouble, and I think it got better for him when he left the game injured.

There was a Fournette run where that NT drove Pocic nearly 2 yards in the backfield, it wasn't good, Fournette got the ball and Pocic was immediately getting driven back into his path. He looked better in pass pro.

Actually, Pocic might have been the problem. Isn't the center usually the one that calls out assignments? He may not have had the experience to do that quite yet.

I agree with this. He had everybody believing Herron was better, then didn't play him. Pocic looked terrible, but before that, we find out Porter was suspended. i won't hold it against Pocic because i think he's playing the wrong position, and he is young. We need to get that guy on a backup tackle spot. I mean really, a 6'7 center? I just looked through 40 NFL centers, and there was only 4 over 6'4 and only one at 6'6.

Pocic will be great for us, but the OP is right.

We need Porter back.

2 game suspension? Geez.

Get him back in there.

What are you trying to say?

If Pocic being the next great member of the OL is a myth, then how could it ever become true?
