Man I really would argue that it's a false equivalency here. Just because it's played out this way doesn't mean that the straight line that the video is making or that you're making is correct.
There's a TON more nuance involved here, and tons of factors contributed to this situation. You can't just straight line it IMO.
We'll never agree though and to be honest the Dems have been as wrong as the Reps on this consistently. Let's just root for us to kill these bastards

He said the same thing several people opposed to war said in 2003...before we invaded. But you won't see Fox News or any right-wingers give those people credit.
