My work office just got moved to cubicles and the noise is unbearable for me. What are some good headphones that wont break the bank?

Give us a more defined $$$ level

Sennheiser HD 280 Pro
around-the-ear, very comfortable, sound great, excellent passive external sound attenuation, and right around $100.
I've had mine for years -- they may have a different model in the same niche, now. Whatever they call it, it's what you want.

Those 280s are solid for the money, I'd probably get the 558s if I could find them for a good price (125 at Amazon). Creative Aurvanas are in your budget and good. Sennheiser Momentum on ears are more portable, but a little outside at 140 or so.
You can get plenty of headphone for 100 bucks, if you go to 150 or so, you can get it in more portable package if you're so inclined (on ear, a little better looking, etc.). Lots of good options.

OP, if you're trying to block outside noise and also want to minimize sound leakage, I will state the obvious, and that is to look for closed-ear (solid back) headphones. The ones already suggested fit that bill. Another popular choice around $100 is the Sony MDR-7506, which is said to be widely used professionally in studios. I had a pair and found them a little bright, but lots of people love them.
On the lighter side, here's a nice review of Senn's $1500 cans:

What about for my 17 yo son to use with his phone? He doesn't want earbuds and the cheap Sony pair he has now has a ridiculously long cord.
I like the 7506 except I don't think you can swap the 10ft coiled cord for something shorter and that's the problem he has now.

If you want swappable cables, then the ath-m50x are for you. I have a pair and they're amazing

What about the 40x? They're $50 cheaper and have great reviews.
