But what do you want: an occasional Boise Humanitarian Bowl appearance or a mantle full of national championships.

I think a lot of FCS teams that jump think that there's some kind of big cash grab going on there and it's usually not the case.

Doubt it. They got it made at the FCS level. Plus school is too small and they probably dont have the academics yet.

Actually I can't factually back up my last statement but I'm just assuming because it's North Freakin Dakota. I'm still baffled how they're getting so much talent up there.

They'd instantly be the best football team in the WAC!

Also, their fanbase and television market are shite, so nobody really is going to want them, conference-wise/television-wise.

At least UTSA and GSU have a chance of building a program because of where they are.

They might as well join the Big 12. I thought I heard they've won more games against Big 12 opponents over the past five years than either Kansas or Iowa State has.

I don't think they ever make the jump...and I don't think they should. They are competing for conference titles and national championships on the reg now. And they get more publicity now beating FBS teams yearly as an FCS school as they ever would if they did the same as a lower level FBS team. I don't see them taking the App St or Georgia Southern mindset that they absolutely HAVE to move up. And they shouldn't.

This is exactly what I think. Some people may think its stupid but if they are going to make the jump up might as well go to a power 5 conference. They have proved that they can compete

I don't think they have too. Best FCS team , proabably in the history of that division. Have always been well coached and those boys get after it. Plenty of publicity by beating FBS teams like Kansas State, Iowa State and the others they have beaten. Stay in FCS, continue to be known as the true dynasty of college football and schedule the occasional FBS school and whip their tails.

That and these schools completely lose their recruiting niche (flunkees, transfers, discipline cases) if they leave FCS.

We would move up with an invite from either the MAC or MWC. Don't see it happening though, geography not in our favor. Academically the school would fit in either conference just fine and so would our football program.

As for talent and where we find it. There is only the Big 12 and Big 10 in MN, WI, IA, NE, ND and SD. Some good talent is left behind, if kids want to play for a regional school NDSU is a great option. Fargo is a nice college town and the atmosphere in the dome is great.

I can count on one hand the FBS transfers that NDSU had had over the past four years. NDSU develops almost completely with high school recruits, might mix in a few JUCOs.

Out of curiosity, how did you find this site?

A good friend went to NDSU and I've been to several games. Great program you got going.

I found this site a while ago, back when the whole Cam Newton/plains are burning thing was going on.

I kind of stuck around after that.
