Keehn is just inconsistent. He had a few great punts last night. Cameron Gamble is a boss though.

Honestly I think this play impressed me the most. How does a true freshman come in and do that?

I like him. Great leg.

But don't kick it out of bounds!!

yep. Our kickers seem to be just a tad inconsistent. Boomer touch backs and then muff out of bounds. Same w punts.

He got a delay of game on a kickoff and kicked it out of bounds at a key point the game. He has a great leg, but you can't do those things in big games.

Keehn was great except for the shank. I was perplexed when Domingue kicked off first. Gamble has a cannon, don't think he ever kicks a field goal for LSU though

Most people probably realize the advantage of Gamble, but just in case. . . He can kick the ball higher than normal kickers on kickoffs, allowing our coverage team more time to get down the field. Since touchbacks are coming out to the 25 now, if Gamble can consistently kick to the goal line (and not beyond), which he can, then he can easily gain our team 5+ yards per kickoff (by us tackling the receiver at or inside the 20).

No. 42.5 yd average. 5 out of 8 punts inside 20. Yes, he did have one shank.

But didn't we kickoff out of bounds once?

Gamble doesn't kick field goals or extra points, that's Delahoussaye. Gamble did have one go out of bounds, but really solid for his first game as a Tiger.

I know he doesn't. I've been saying he was strictly a kickoff guy since he signed. Is a kickoff specialist worth a scholarship was a hot debate topic when he committed. Many didn't believe me when I said he'd never kick field goals.
