JPMorgan Hack Said to Span Months Via Multiple Flaws
Bloomberg
When I read yesterday that the hack took place in mid Aug., I had my doubts about the timing. In late June or early July, my husband received new cards and account numbers for his Chase Credit Card. This was months before expiry and out of the blue.
Anyone else have new cards sent?

I did not....but changed all my passwords yesterday. May not make a difference if they already know all my info.

I received new cards but they were to upgrade the card to that new chip technology.

Did you get new account numbers?
A couple of weeks after we received the cards, they very kindly sent us a list of vendors with automatic payments to remind us to change the account numbers.
It costs the bank money to change the account numbers and cards, so I am wondering if they only reissued customers with healthy available balances.

I have 2 Chase cards, my wife has 1, aggregate credit limit on the 3 is pushing 6-figures and no new cards. She did receive a thick envelope with prospective card benefits/reward changes which she will never read.

I received a call on my cell phone this AM that was identified as CHASE FRAUD. Answered, it was from a different card issuer and was questioned about two charges that occurred this AM in California at a hotel, neither of which I made. Those guys are on it, Chase I don't know.

Capital One called the house last Monday told the wife we would be receiving new cards, said there was a merchant that had a security breach and we had made a purchase with this merchant, no specifics, this is the 4th time in 10yrs this has happened, I'm just waiting for this hacking/security breach sh!t to get real serious and cause significant damage to the financial sector.
