Has anyone rooted their fire tv to take advantage of xbmc? I am considering it for the movie apps and sports.

Do it and report back.

I use an Asus Chromebox booting into Openelec for my XBMC needs, but everything you need should be in this wiki or this giant forum post

Don't think you need to root to install it, only to take advantages of a few features.

I didn't think it was that hard to google "firetv xbmc"

The first link is a tutorial on how to do it. Do I need to hold your hand while you do it?
