Who would take les?

With all the hype surrounding freshmen who have yet to play a snap of college ball, let's give credit where it is definitively due. I feel so fortunate to have CLM at the helm of our damn fine football team. If we had the chance to trade our coach for any other in college, I would decline the opportunity without a second thought, which is pretty amazing.
I've always been a CLM fan although I wasn't 100% sold early on. I must admit, there were times, especially earlier on regarding the offense and the quarterbacks in particular where I had my doubts. Although there have been some head scratchers, Miles has learned and improved as much every year as his players have. His ability to recruit players is only surpassed it seems by his ability to hire and retain quality coordinators and assistants. He's a family oriented, moral, classy, huge chested man who manages to make every moment around him funny or interesting. I have never looked so forward to every interview and press conference with a coach, and never more proud in how he represents our school.
So if you had the choice, would you take Les?

Only other coach I could see in his place is Spurrier. I like the entertainment factor.
But I always think about a coach by whether I would want my son to play for him or not. I wouldn't want my child to play for a guy like Saban, Muschamp, Meyer, or Brian Kelly. Miles and Spurrier would definitely be ones that I'd trust.

Funny, I thought the same thing. Spurrier is the only other SEC coach that comes close. Classy, honest and entertaining.

Solid post and response...
I also would love my son to play for him.... IF he's there in 17 1/2 years

Not so sure. I seem to be getting a lot of down votes.

Les is my #1 choice, and it isn't even close. There is a lot more to a college football program than just wins and losses (not that he's lacking in that department anyway). For a professional team, I could live with someone with Saban's mentality and personality - but it's not what I want in a college program. While I've disagreed with decisions on occasion (like leaving Jefferson in during the title game), and I've yelled and cursed at the screen on a few occasions, at the end of the day there isn't another coach in existence that I'd trade Les Miles for. In many ways, I think he is just like Dale Brown, who is my all time favorite coach in any sport at any level. Above all else, I admire one trait about both of them - they are "real." What you see is what you get, and they love the sport, the university, and above all else, their players.

So, this is where the circle jerk is?

Overall I have no issue with him being LSU's coach because let's be honest...It can get a WHOLE lot worse. he has done very well, has managed the program well, and is a great ambassador for the school.
That said, I am always amazed by how little WE ever worry year to year about losing him. Meaning, other than the Michigan thing after 2007, there is not a ton of public or media driven interest in someone coming and hiring him away. It's interesting how little he is discussed as a serious target from other schools or NFL teams (and don't give me the Dallas Cowboy thing because that is pure speculation and conjecture by our own fanbase bec he coached TEs there back in the late 90s). It's just kinda....odd for such a proven coach with such a good record of success and stability. Esp with his recruiting prowess.

It's not hard to find it on the rant. Hope it's still going on Sunday morning.

The one time they did speculate, Miles bitch slapped them. Maybe it's because he's made it clear that he's not interested in another job. No need to even discuss it.

Don't you get it? It's because he's a genius and NFL owners don't want a coach smarter than them. That and the whole he can make himself invisible and defy earth's gravity and all.

OK, not to piss on this SOS lovefest parade, but I can only agree to him being honest and entertaining.
While very mellow now compared to his Florida days, classy and SOS still don't belong in the same sentence. Nobody rubs it in as well as he does when he wins and he's still a big crybaby when things don't go his way.

None of this matters. Love him or hate him, we're stuck with him for years to come. So, everyone might as well get on the Mad Hatter band wagon and hope for the best.

Yeah. Since you have neither penis or testicles, you can't attend.
Have a great day.
