How hard is it for someone to actually throw a 1st pitch at an MLB game and it not be a laughable joke? 50 cent, Bob Costas, ect ect.

These mother frickers cant even get the ball to the plate. I just cant get over how absolutely spastic some of these personalities are. Throwing a baseball 60 ft is not hard. it just amazes me. Its not like they are being asked to dunk a basketball or break press coverage against Deoin Sanders. Its throwing a baseball.........ok end rant

I don't get it either...

Did none of these people play baseball even as a kid? Throwing a ball is like riding a bike. It blows my mind how few people can actually throw a baseball.

I can play catch all day long and never miss a beat...ask me to make a throw when it matters, such as when there are shite load of people watching before an MLB gam,e and I'd probably launch that thing in to the stands

My dad threw the first pitch at a Red's game and was nervous as hell. I was behind home plate and had to jump to catch it. He practiced at home for a week and swore he would take his time. He walked up to the mound stopped and threw it before he had even really set his feet. Dudes lucky I have hops.

I know, csb.

I am starting to think these particularly bad ones are done on purpose for the cheap publicity.

Yeah, getting to throw out the first pitch is pretty amazing. That is a CSB. Very cool.

The best advice I heard is don't get on the mound. You're used to throwing from a level surface to another level surface. The mound just complicates things. You're not used to throwing from one, you're not a MLB pitcher, stay off the friggin' mound.

Thanks. He was the VP of Operations for a company that sponsored MLB for a short time and they asked him if he would want to. He told them that he would as long as I got to go on the field and catch for him. Ken Griffey jr and Adam Dunn were warming up on the field when we walked out and I got to talk to them for a minute or so. They were playing the Brewers and also got to talk to Prince Fielder, who I was a pretty big fan of at the time. Pretty awesome deal.

Throwing a baseball is muscle memory. If you've never thrown one, you have no muscle memory of how to do it.

When baseball was an experimental sport in the Olympics the USSR hired an American minor league coach to develop a team. He was given a bunch of 18 to 20 year athletes who had never touched a baseball.

After a year he could not teach them to throw and they gave up.

Bush would have struck out 17 that night if he had stayed on the mound.
