Where would you or a good Male scratch golfer finish on the money list? I've thought about this often and was reminded of it when Annika Sorenstam, the greatest female golfer ever, did not even when the Celebrity Tahoe Championship.

I'm a 2 cap but if I played full time I think i could make the LPGA.

I don't know. Sorenstam has been out of the game for a while so I don't think it's fair to compare her to other LPGA players right now. Michelle Wie did make a cut on an Asian tour event, but missed the other 12 she has played in. She's also a much better player now. I think most scratch golfers could compete, but would be nowhere near the top of the money list.

You wouldn't be very high on the money list. It's not like other sports where physicality plays a huge part.

Being great around the green and in approach shots is where they beat you

The longest driver on the LPGA is currently at 271 average. Compare that with the PGA longest, 313. So basically, you've got a 3-4 club distance advantage. It would all come down to how well you score, but you'd be having easier shots into every green.

No - only where they tee off.

I did about 50 seconds of research and it seems like the average LPGA course is 6,600 yards. I rarely play a course that short.

At least 6400 yards, according to a quick google search.

You would only gain a shot or two because of distance, and would probably lose that shot or two playing tougher courses on tour

That's a pretty objective statement. The rare times i play the middle tees instead of the back tees at my home course I shoot much lower. I go from hitting a 3 wood on a tight, 420 yd par 4 to hitting driver on a 360 yard par 4 and having a flip wedge instead of a 8 iron. Assuming I hit it straight of course. Most courses don't have trouble from 20-80 yards out because its not the landing zone or the green. Driver would take trouble out of play playing from the up tees.

Ur hitting wedge on almost every hole including par 3's. Reaching all par 5's. Huge advantage.

I played a round with Meg Mallon when I was younger and around a 4 handicap.. We played from what now a days would be considered upper mens tees.. This was back in the 90's. The course was playing about 6200 or so yards that day. She lit up a 67 while a tooled around in a 77.. She was damn good.. hit fairways and greens and had a great short game..

That day changed forever my perception of the LPGA. I had also at that point played with Hal Sutton, David Toms, Fuzzy Zoeller and a few other pga level players for at least 9 holes. The only difference was really the distance.. It was significant enough to make me realize that it was unlikely for any females to compete on the PGA level.

Well I'm usually in the 60's or low 70's... On the front 9.

So I doubt my manliness would help me much
