Friends > BBT

20 something Anniston > 20 something Cuoco.

My observation is Howard's mother and joeys agent Estelle?
Are they the same actress? Inside scoop you know of? Besides just google. That's too easy.

Wait, how can you say "not comparison" and then throw out the > sign in the first sentence?

They all have something in common -- they both have characters I would pay to see kicked in the teeth.

I actually think Friends is legit good.

I've never watched BBT, but I know the gist of the show and basically know the characters (especially the Jim Parsons one). On my flight back to BR last week, they had some episodes of shows playing, and I watched them. Well, one of them was BBT, and I figured I had heard good things about it (also bad things, to be fair) so why not give it a shot. And it was pretty fricking horrible. I felt like it was not only "lowest common denominator" shite (which a lot are, admittedly), but also that it was pretty poorly acted. It seemed like they were just waiting to get their lines in most of the time.

If it helps, it was an episode where they replace a desk by the window with a new dining room table or something like that. I dunno...it was pretty fricking bad though.

In other news, however, I watched an episode of About a Boy, and it was pretty fricking hilarious. I may look into catching up on that show...I really enjoyed it. (it's what I started watching, and then BBT came on after it finished)

On the rare occasion I have bbt on, some of the lines aren't bad. It's ok for what it is...a generic, bland sitcom that's supposed to appeal to a WIDE audience.

however, what pisses me off about it is the over the top laugh track. I realize a lot of sitcoms have them, fine. But the one for bbt is actually insulting. There is UPROARIOUS laughter at even the smallest little quip. Not to mention there's canned laughter probably every 5 to 6 seconds. You don't need to tell me when I'm supposed to laugh CBS, I can figure that out on my own.

No shite. I really (really) liked that show. I liked Mr. Sunshine, but admit that it wasn't very good. But Go On was legit good IMO. I put it in the same category as Outsourced.

Hell, Aniston is still absurdly hot now. (thread is now nsfw)

I really like the show, but yeah, all of the actors outside of Parsons are pretty bad, especially the guy who plays Howard (literally cannot act).

I think the Sheldon character is great and Parsons does him really well -- which is why he's been racking up Emmys for it for years -- but the rest of it is canned sitcom shtick.

It's been mentioned plenty of times by me. The first 2 seasons or so it was a different show, 4 nerds and the hot neighbor girl showing just how absurdly different nerds/geeks and normal people can be. Then they paired everyone up and made it a geek version of Friends and the popularity went through the roof as the quality of the show declined. It's just not as funny as it used to be and I have no idea how Sheldon has won an Emmy 4 years in a row.

Now that Penny doesn't show off her boobs I don't watch the show.

Parsons turned me off the most. He's one of the worst offenders of the "I just want to say my line and be done with it" thing I mentioned. Johnny Galecki was pretty bad too.

Like I said, I could see the appeal to a large audience (and I don't hate on people that like it), but that show is definitely not for me I don't think.

I'm 24, but I've seen every episode of friends. Young Aniston is overrated, she's hotter now than she was in Friends.

I'm not sure I could disagree with you more than I am right now. But to each his own I guess.

I just wanted to say that Phoebe is the worst character on any tv show ever. That is all.
