One was from a pick taken to the 1 yd line

The other was a 4 yd drive after a long kickoff return

No sustained drives of any significance

if those things don't happen, we win 21-0 or more and they don't score. and that was with AWFUL QB play.

for the love of Christ, Jennings wasn't "AWFUL" in that bowl game. He made one bad throw and I'm sure got an earful from CLM and CamCam after the play. Also had a hard time reading blitzes that resulted in sacks but against a good defense and it being his first ever start, shite like that is expected. He didn't lose the game.

So, not awful.

All this. Wasn't great or even good. But definitely not awful. shite happens.

Redfieldk is on this. I would go a step further. Wisconsin OL is way better than Iowa's OL. These two teams used to be fairly similar, but not now.

Saving grace is that Wisconsin's defense is in no way comparable to Iowa's last year...at least on paper.

It was also going against a shitty offense and not one of the best rushing attacks in the nation like the one we face Saturday.

Yes

Jennings was a freshman last year and has plenty of room to grow and excuses for his effort in the bowl game. Also, the play calling did him no favors.

HOWEVA, there is virtually no definition of awful that wouldn't encompass his stat line:

C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT QBR
A. Jennings 7/19 82 4.3 0 1 19.7

Yep, that's awful. Nobody is saying he's an awful QB or awful person, but that was an awful game for a QB by any measure.

Good news is, he was going against a really good defense, which he...or Harris...won't be doing Saturday night. Not concerned about our offense vs their defense.

Went 7\19 for 38% completion rate and 1 pick with no touchdowns.

I think that shows more than one bad throw wouldn't you say?

He also carried the ball pretty well.. 5 carries for -31 yards. (4 sacks and one 1 yrd QB sneak for a TD)

He was a true freshman and playing in his first away game no doubt.

But to say that game wasn't awful is an awful assessment

His play against Arkansas for just 1 drive was better than his entire game against Iowa.

He went 4\7 for 76 yards and also carried the ball 3 times for 26 yards.

Total yards vs Iowa... 51 yards

Total yards in one drive vs Arkansas... 99 yards.

If he can be more like he was against Arkansas, he will be a baller.

If he is like he is vs Iowa.. He will be a stinker.

I'm seeing a 20-10 or 24-13 type game if the turnovers are limited.

Did we even throw a pass in the 4th Q?

Agree that the play calling hampered him, but he made more than one awful pass. He had one awful pass that OBJ made a miracle catch on that was his longest in the game. That stat line was if not awful, very bad. Thank you J Hill.

Doesn't mean he will not get better, but that performance will not beat many elite teams.

I meant that Cam/Miles had to shut down the offense after the pick. Mett threw a similar pick in the '12 UF Game, so it's not the end of the world. But when people are worried about an '09 type offense, it's because of that.

When I read that stat line I had a instant flashback to Jordan Jefferson's average stat line. $20 bucks says that stat line is one of the bottom three in all bowl performances from last season.

What's crazy is that he did that with two elite wr's with great hands.

On a wet field at that. We have too much speed for Wisky, 24-13 tigers

A play here and a play there is the difference! The argument of "IF" they don't happen is moot.
