Any recommendations? I don't have a grill at the moment, and already found out the hard way that my smoke detector is quite sensitive so I'd like to stay away from any stove top preparation. My folks gave me some nice pork chops and I don't want them to go to waste

How thick? If you can, make a slit in the center part & stuff with sautéed spinach, onions, mushrooms, cranberries, & goat cheese. Season the chops, place on a rack & cook at 350 for approx 40 minutes.
If they aren't thick enough to stuff, season chops, place some baby carrots, potatoes chunks, squash, zuccinni, & baby bellas in the bottom of a roasting pan. Place chops on top of veggies, add a little chicken/beef stock & bake at 350-400 approx 35-40 minutes.
If you have fig preserves handy, you can glaze the chops (either recipe) when they are about done.

It doesn't matter how you cook pork chops, IMO, as long as you don't over cook them. Pork chops are one of life's greatest delicacies running neck and neck with chicken wings.

I used to bake chops that were seasoned and topped with a half of a rotel can and butter sauce medley. Cover then and bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes or so, then remove the cover and bake for 3-5 minutes. The side dish that compliments this is canned corn with the other half of rotel mixed with it, and some good black eyed peas.

Pork chops are one of the rare foods that the cheaper the cut, the better the taste. I will take a cheap thin cut fatty pork chop and season it with S n P, garlic powder and flour. fry in canola oil.

Fast, easy, cheap and delicious.

As a poor kid, my mom used to put a little salt and plenty if black pepper and then just bake them on a cookie sheet. I still love them that way to this day.

Have you considered disabling your smoke alarm? I enjoy them better with a little sear, but otherwise the first suggestion is what I would do

This

My great grandmother use to do this and cook them until they were almost dried out. Didn't appreciate it back then but I crave them now.

Side of smothered white beans and cornbread, cant beat it!

Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers sliced in a basic salt, black pepper, vinegar dressing!

Miss those simple days.

They still make Shake & Bake?

Caramelize a healthy portion of onions, then add sliced mushrooms and sliced carrots. Make a bed in a casserole dish and place seasoned (S&P Rosemary) pork chops on top. Add a splash of good dry white wine and bake covered at 350 for 45 minutes. Baste a couple of times during coking.

eat them chops with crusty bread.
