Who gives a frick. Why would I care what someone at the movie theater thinks?

I've only done it once. Felt kind of weird but wasn't a big deal. I definitely wouldn't mind it in the city I'm in now. If I did it in the city I grew up in I would feel awkward because the town was the opposite of fun and the only thing to do was go to the movie and I would definitely see someone I knew

Its not like you communicate with the person you go with during the movie (unless you're an a-hole), so going alone isn't all that different.

I typically go by myself. Going to the movies isn't really a social activity. You are supposed to sit there and be quiet. I especially like to go at odd times and try to have the theater entirely to myself as much as possible.

I go by myself. Who cares. If it's something you have to get into and is long, I rather by myself.

I do. I go to the theaters to watch a movie, not to socialize.

I would feel weird on a Fri or Sat night, but any other time it's all good. It would be nice not having someone next to me insisting I hold the popcorn bag the entire movie, even though it is very obvious she's the only one eating it. But I digress...

It's probably not that weird but I wouldn't do it.

I used to think it was weird when I was younger. But recently I've found out that going to a movie by yourself during the mid day can actually be enjoyable.

I do it.... but not at busy times. My wife talks during movies and it drives me bonkers.

Who gives a shite? Why does it matter what's "acceptable"? Just do what you feel.

When I had my previous job, I would go to movies by myself on the reg. Sometimes I would get off work at like 2pm and hit up a movie. It was cheaper and most times I would literally be the only person in the theater. It was badass, I loved it. If that's "weird", then so be it.

Now, I personally would not go to an opening weekend, Friday or Saturday night movie by myself, just because I would be a little uncomfortable in that setting. But a daytime showing..I love it.

I don't talk during the movie, so I don't see why it would be a big deal.

I have done it occasionally when there is something interesting in theaters that my wife won't see.

I've done it before. Not really that weird. You don't go to a movie to socialize.

However, the old hole in the popcorn bucket trick isn't as fun when you're by yourself.
