One of Albert Ebosse's own fans threw a rock onto the pitch, killing the 24-year old Cameroonian.

HOLE.
E.
shite.

Algerians are the worst. Unbelievable.

quote:

A statement published on Kabylie’s website on Saturday read: “The Ministry of Interior and Local Government, speaking through minister Tayeb Belaiz, has given an instruction to open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Albert Ebosse.

“The JSK player succumbed to a head injury after being hit in the head at the end of the meeting with USM Alger.”

Reacting to the news of Ebosse’s death, USM Alger published a statement on their own club website.

It read: “JS Kabylie’s Cameroonian striker has lost his life after being hit in the head by something launched from the stands.

“This terrible news is saddening for football in our nation and in Cameroon and arrives like a bombshell just hours after the meeting with USM Alger which was played in Tizi Ouzou.

“In these painful circumstances, USM Alger and its members send their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and to JS Kabylie. May Albert Ebosse rest in peace.”

Honestly, with the types of things that get thrown onto the fields in soccer games, I'm surprised that hasn't happened before.

Very sad news. May he rest in peace.

Never understood why venues haven't starting using those mesh nets (see behind Gameday live crew) around the pitch to stop players being pelted with objects.

I still remember a Laliga game, where a guy some how was able to sneak a javelin into a match and chucked it, missing the keeper by about 10 feet.

FIFA should grow a set and lay down a huge hammer.

I still wonder that. Maybe he had a huge sign rolled up and stuck it in there.

Mesh nets wouldn't cause a Hillsborough.

I have always worried about something like this happening when the national team goes down to Azteca or some of the other shitty CONCACAF stadiums.
