It's a couple years old. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

For overheating electronics, first step is always to check all vents for obstructions and take a can of compressed air to the interior. Also make sure your power brick isn't on the floor, buried under other wires, etc. because that could be what's overheating; it's apparently common. I googled it years ago when my nephews' 360 was shutting off. Solution was to get it elevated and exposed to ambient air as much as possible.

I'm gonna suggest you make sure the fans are running in the machine before it shuts off. I've had to replace the cooling fan in my Wii like 3 times. Those bitches are fragile.
