Why do so many folks hate on the burbs?

Boredom.

Because neighborhoods suck. It creates the Jones's and everyone who tries to keep up them. It's uncreative. People, and ultimately families, should forge their own path.

Because the burbs of Baton Rouge aren't Scarsdale, Massapequa or Chevy Chase. They are where the under class go because they can't afford episcopal.

For me it was Bruce dern.

Because downtown is associated with yuppies and hipsters, and nothing is more celebrated in America than youth ("Youth has been America's greatest tradition for 400 years" -- Oscar Wilde).

But the city is not a place to raise kids, and once you have a family you make the burb move for them.

Growing up sucks.

To get an age appropriate home in Katy it can be done for 200 grand. Was 150 grand when we started here.

That same house in West University or Inner Loop would probably have a decimal,point in it.
