“I think there’s a few people that don’t want me to play in the SEC,” Valentine said, “and I’m pretty sure who it is, but I’m not going to say.”

Valentine suggested that he was referring to another SEC school.

Valentine said LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is expected to meet with his mother to discuss the ordeal more Thursday night. He did not have any more information on what the SEC was looking into.

FWIW, Hannagrif was talking about this today on his show, and he said the rumors were that it was Billy Gonzales at State that was the source of the problem. Apparently Gonzales still recruits Florida like he did for us, and he's pissed at Les/LSU for being let go.

More likely UF, don't ya think. Don't they have a history of it? Silver lining could be that our dts for this class could be set with guys on campus

How the hell is it so hard to see if he took the right class or not. This should be more public than it is. NCAA passes him but not the SEC Office which is in Birmingham, AL kind of makes you wonder.

Wow; to try and hurt a kid like this. I can't believe Saban is this petty. He has had the number one recruiting class 8 years in a row. It has to be another coach. Can Urban still mess with the SEC?

Jump to conclusions much? I doubt Saban would do something like this. Much more likely that it was UF, who he de-committed from.

lol no, we brung in a A+ D-line haul last cycle and we actually parted ways with valentine earlier in the cycle because of his grades.

I don't understand how the NCAA can clear him, but the SEC can still put restrictions on him. I thought the NCAA was the be-all and end-all entity of college athletics.

I think it's referring to Miami, but I could be wrong.

Don't think it's UF.

Don't think Bama would care. They didn't recruit him.

Well, Urban Meyer flagged PP7's test score, so that's why Florida came to mind.

If you read my post you will see that did not believe it was Saban; made no sense for him to do this.

This is the stupidity behind it. The NCAA spent like three weeks investigating and cleared Valentine. That's plenty of time for a thorough investigation.

Which is why Hannagrif's Gonzales rumor makes sense. Has an axe to grind with LSU, was probably recruited by Gonzales since he's a Florida area guy, etc.
