So, do you use glasses in a hotel room?

I don't travel a lot, but have seen stories on the news about how truly dirty hotel rooms really are, as well as how little effort is given to cleaning glasses and such.

I don't drink from glasses in hotel rooms anymore, even if I wash them myself. Picked one up today to put water in the iron to iron my shirt and had finger prints all over it. Nice hotel too.

I use the disposables. I don't touch the remote, it is the dirtiest item in the entire hotel.

No, I just don't use them, haven't for years, but picked this one up and took it over to the window. Was a bit surprised.

I'd get a different room and if none are available, a refund. I've done it before. I don't tolerate a hotel room that's not immaculate.

I am really glad I am not OCD and so paranoid about little shite like this.

If it's not obviously dirty, I use all items in a hotel room that I want to. I haven't been sick since 1999 (forgot my flu shot that year)......

I've seen video from hidden cameras showing the maids using windex to "clean" the glasses. When they were confronted about it, they said they didn't see what the big deal was.

It's quite the conundrum b/c the nicer hotels (Doubletree, Hilton, Conrad) have (dirty) glasses in the room but the shitty hotels (Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn) have plastic-wrapped disposable cups that are sanitary.
