From another board. Long but worth reading. Where is your oil on the list?

I don't remember the last time I cleaned a gun, and I shoot WAY more than the average person.

Cleaning guns is over rated and a waste of time.

I tend to agree, esp regarding an AR.

Ed Brown don't like to be dry though.

The Colt don't GAS, the dirtier the better.

High powered rifles is what I clean most. Copper fouling can affect accuracy big time.

Meh.

Maybe that's why I suck at shooting rifles.

I read this a while back. Very interesting study. I always use Kroil on my guns but i also take very good care of them. I guess if I was in battle zone conditions, I'd want the best. You'd have to be pretty negligent to let your gun rust like some of those plates.

All of the rusted blued barrels on rifles and shotguns I have seen over the years disagree

Anyone find the statement that none of the top five, which included two formulations of WD-40, were water displacement products a little odd?

not sure what he was trying to measure with water displacement.

He measured if they were heavier than water or not.

Colt's Royal Blue finish looks better clean.

I will say I like doing it.

Grab a beer, break out the Hoppe's and CLP, turn the radio on and just take 'em apart. Very relaxing and I even like the smell of cleaners and oil.
