Is Portico on Coursey closed?

Heard through the grapevine that the place is closed and that there is a for lease sign on the door. Any truth to this rumor?

I noticed the signs and empty lot earlier today. I never much cared for the place, so no big loss in my book. Coursey is tough on restaurants.

Ate there for lunch last week but did hear someone say they went over the weekend and they said they were moving to focus on other location or something
South Downs maybe

Interesting....that's a nice building with a great patio. Location is a bit of an issue (can't take a left out of the bldg onto Coursey) but they sure did spend a lot of money fixing it up.

No one can compete with you Gugich. You're the Highlander of Coursey restaurants east of Sherwood. There can be only one.

That's what is weird to me. The Southdowns one is often dead.. and my mom goes to the Coursey one a lot and said they often have a wait.

wasn't it Calendar"s for a long time before Portico?

No it was Romacelli and Marcellos. You're thinking of the Frankie Marcello's location on Perkins/starring I think

Maybe they are opening up a new location ?

If he's talking about Coursey, it was Calendar's before.

Truff. It's out of the location. Anybody want to take up that lease????

I believe there were two at one time. Frankie Marcello's was definitely a Calendar's before; you're right.

I'd bet you can make it anything you want...as long as you pay the rent.

There were actually at least three at one time. There was one near the south gate of LSU in the space now occupied by Fat Cow (or whatever that burger place is called). I used to frequent the one on Perkins years ago...enjoyed the Plantation Salad with grilled chicken and honey mustard!

Are you referring to Calendar's?
