Antwaan Randle El debuted as a freshman quarterback for Indiana and then-head coach Cam Cameron on Sept. 12, 1998, and all he did was set an NCAA freshman record for total offense with 467 yards – 385 through the air on 22-of-29 passing with three touchdowns and no interceptions and 82 rushing on 23 carries with another three touchdowns.

I trust Cam

In 2009 when JJ started against Washington, he had just turned 19 years old the week before

Cameron is not a fan of starting true freshmen QBs, I promise. The article lists 1 - Randle El, who sat out a full year at Indiana due to test scores. I've heard him talk about this in person.

In all honesty, is their really that much difference here between AJ and BW in terms of experience?

AJ has started all of one game, and had BW not enrolled early and gone thru spring drills, this argument wouldn't be so difficult.

Let the more talented guy get the start, and go from there.

I'm not a fan of changing tires on the side of the road...but, when life gives me a flat tire, I face the reality and get the jack out.

JEEBUS. Who thinks that Cameron WANTS to have a young QB? The point was that he has EXPERIENCE getting one ready in a hurry

How in the world do you know this? Are you an insider who has been to practices? Or is this based on 15 minute snips from practice and one spring game??

Fun fact: Brandon Harris is actually 19 days older than Anthony Jennings.

Age is irrelevant but JJ also already had a year under his belt when he started against Washington.

Physical talent is just one part of what it takes to be a quality QB. I want to start the one with better instincts, decision making and leadership skills. I don't give a shite if you can throw it 300 yards, if you don't have good touch, accuracy, instincts in the pocket and decision-making ability, you won't get far at all. We all know Harris has a strong arm. What we don't know is how he will do under fire, nor do we really know much about Jennings for that matter. People that aren't Les Miles, Cam Cameron or someone else on the staff that make these declarative statements about who should start or who will have more success as a QB in the SEC quite literally no idea what they're talking about. I don't know who gives us a better chance to win and neither do any of the people on this board. Maybe it's Harris, maybe it's Jennings, maybe we have a 2-QB system. We will see.

You're the one with the agenda. I don't know who's better, and I don't give a shite who starts!

errrr, as long as it's not JJ.

Yeah it does. A young guy starting at QB, is basically what JJ was in 2009. Only passed for around 170 in that first game, but threw three TDs and 0 ints on the road, a long arse way from home.

JJ played more than Jennings, but it wasn't a whole lot more. I'd say a game's difference, maybe game and a half, at the most.
