What you got against 'Murica bruh??

eta: I don't follow it but it's one of the signs that college football is near when it starts showing up on the program guide.

ESPN is stirring up ratings during this slow time.

Don't kill for saying this...but they'd get much better ratings showing Premier League soccer or something.

When will Jay Bilas start talking about how these kids are being exploited and they don't get any corn flakes money.

Most people prefer to watch live sporting events over sports talk and highlights/replays - it's a slow time of year.

Also, most people have kids and most kids play sports - it's a pastime.

Just another overhyped event, most states and larger cities don't even play Little League anymore. There is about 50 teams that could beat the Pearland team in Houston alone, combine that with Dallas area and maybe one person off that team would make an all Texas team if that.

Than the foreign teams come in and Japan is drawing from the entire country. Can you imagine the USA bring one team.

I agree, but NBC outbid everybody for Premiere League and ABC (now ESPN) has had the LLWS forever.

It's the dead of summer - there isn't shite else worth watching or meaningful league games being played in the evenings and afternoons.

I enjoy it because I played LL baseball, and it's cool to see that kids that age can make it to prime time television playing the game they all love. So for me, it's partly for nostalgia and partly because it's entertaining.

No shite, I'd rather watch the LLWS any day over MLB (outside of maybe the World Series). MLB is so fricking boring.

Why do people care so much about this one but they don't give any shits about Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken or Dizzy Dean baseball?

Because ESPN doesn't own the rights to them and, therefore, refuses to acknowledge their existence while simultaneously glorifying Little League and giving them their own national platform. That's why.
