Since I follow F1, I am going to try to explain as many buttons as I can:

Row of LEDs at the top of the steering wheel: These LEDs indicate the engine RPMs. They go from left to right. When all the LEDs light up, it means the driver needs to shift up to the next gear.

DRS - Drag Reduction System: If you are less than a second behind the car in front of you, activating the DRS will open your rear wings and you get more straight line speed helping you overtake the guy in front of you.

BOX: Short for 'Pitbox'. Drivers press this button as soon as they enter the pitlane so that the car does not exceed the pit speed lane limit (80 kmph). Think of it like a cruise control for the pit lane.

N: I am leaning towards that being the 'Neutral'. F1 cars don't have a reverse gear. If the drivers spin, they will need to do a 180 degree spin to get the car pointed in the right direction.

BRKBAL - Brake balance: Helps the driver change the brake bias towards the front or the rear brakes. Depending on the cicruit, if the team thinks the front brakes are heating up, they ask the driver to change the bias more towards the rear, to prevent the front discs from overheating and failing. Drivers also change the bias to suit their driving style.

TYRE: The button at the right bottom is for selecting the car balance depending on the tires that have been put on the car. In a given race, every team is given a set of dry weather, wet weather and intermediate tires.

I was close on most of them. The Box button is not the speed limiter for the pit lane, but actually it is for the driver to indicate the crew that he wants to come in on the next lap. The PL button is actually the speed limiter.

You can also adjust ignition timing, pedal sensitivity, rear differential lockup and A/F ratio from the steering wheel.

Different fuel maps for different situations. If the race goes under caution, flip the dial around and save fuel. Late in the race and not competing for points? Switch to a leaner mixture and get the car home.
