Can't MVP? Is that market talk or team build talk?

They are dead wrong if it's market talk

2013-14 Kevin Durant Oklahoma City Thunder
2009-10 LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers
2008-09 LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers
2003-04 Kevin Garnett Minnesota Timberwolves
2002-03 Tim Duncan San Antonio Spurs
2001-02 Tim Duncan San Antonio Spurs
1998-99 Karl Malone Utah Jazz
1996-97 Karl Malone Utah Jazz
1994-95 David Robinson San Antonio Spurs

They didn't say that

They said that New Orleans has to do "something" for him to get noticed, and even talked about how they were decimated by injuries last season.

it's called winning. people will notice him when he starts winning. it's not like lebron had the greatest team around him in cleveland, and he was able to start winning at a young age. AD can do the same. shite, he did it last year.

Sounds like a fair assessment.

This isn't even close to what they said. SVP brought up Davis and asked the question "When does he become a guy that is a lead on Sportcenter? When does he become a guy that we use to keep guys watching through a commercial?" Russillo stated that he thought Davis would go third overall if all players were re-drafted right now with a five year window. SVP agreed with that assessment and asked Rusillo if he thought Davis has the potential to be MVP. They both said yes.

They both agreed that for Davis to become a lead guy on Sportcenter, or a possible MVP, the Pelicans have to start winning. "Davis needs the exposure of ESPN and TNT in the spring" was SVP's exact quote.

I just had to set the record straight because in no way did they say he couldn't win in NOLA.

Dah frick? Russillo is always on point but this comment does not compute...I mean I guess Lillard but who is the other one?

I believe he was thinking from Davis' draft, not the entire league

what?

Lebron is only 29. He will regress but he will still be damn good when he is 34(barring injuries)

He must be thinking "from the last 5 drafts" and not "you get these players for next five years."

I don't think they're talking about any particular drafts at all. I think he means if you were to put every player in the NBA into a draft and you get the players' rights for 5 years, AD would be top 3.

I think I'd agree with that.

Oh yeah that's definitely what Russillo meant.

I was talking about JohnZeroQ and him being confused with what Russillo meant.

Russillo was talking the whole league. He said that if all players in the league were available for a re-draft, and you were drafting for the next five years, AD would go third overall behind LeBron and Durant. SVP agreed.

It had nothing to do with AD's draft. Lillard is not even in this type of discussion.

Gotcha, I think he was focusing even narrower on redrafting the 2012 draft.
