In your opinion, how would you rank or rate your top 5 craft beer states. Try and consider many factors such as quality and quantity of craft offerings.
1. Vermont
2. California
3. Oregon
4. Colorado
5. Michigan
I'd really like to get Maine, Washington, and North Carolina in there but I just can't see it.

Unfortunately, I haven't had many Florida offerings. They are tough to get around these parts. I know about the great things of Cigar City from reading this board, but what are some other Florida breweries?

Michigan has bell's, dark horse, founders, jolly pumpkin, and new holland
Illinois has Goose Island, FFF, Pipeworks, Revolution, and half acre
It looks to me that MI produces better stouts and IL with the better IPAs, but IL makes top notch stouts as well

Technically Indiana, but see your point. CA with FW, Lost Abbey, RR, Ballast Point, Bear Republic and a few other second tier breweries is tough to top among the better known bunch. Jax has me thinking Oregon is a contender as well, and Texas ain't doing bad these days

I'm morbidly curious what kind of responses this topic would get on the OT

I'm still trying to get through Oregon's stuff. When I'm bored with that, I'll start drinking stuff from other states.
California probably takes the top spot for quantity of breweries, and Vermont probably takes the per capita title.
However, it would be hard to top Portland's beer scene, where you can do a brewery crawl and walk from brewery to world class brewery.
