U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has taken another step in his investigation into the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, whose death has led to fierce protests in the relatively small city of Ferguson, Missouri. Holder's office released a statement Sunday morning declaring the "extraordinary circumstances" involved in the case have caused him to order Justice Department officials to perform a second autopsy by a federal medical examiner. "Due to the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case and at the request of the Brown family, Attorney General Holder has instructed Justice Department officials to arrange for an additional autopsy to be performed by a federal medical examiner. This independent examination will take place as soon as possible," the statement said. The St. Louis County Medical Examiner's office has already examined Brown's body, which concluded the young African-American teen had died of gunshot wounds after his encounter with the police just over one week ago.

I bet the second autopsy shows he died from gunshot wounds and is still dead.

The first autopsy must not have fit the narrative...

Who is doing it?

Will both autopsy reports be released or just one?

I hope the autopsy is done by the FBI Crime labs. You can trust them every time.

On what grounds? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing the Feds can investigate in this case is whether Browns civil rights were violated.

The "Murder" was not a Federal crime and they have no jurisdiction.

Additionally, the family has already hired Michael Baden to do a second exam, so I doubt the Fed's autopsy will be any better than his.

Sure this is where they will shift the narrative.

I guess he must not have been shot in the "back" enough times.

And with the recent info trickle and I'd imagine the radio communications will back it up... The first contact was not relative to the robbery, but the follow-up which led to the shooting was in regards to a robbery.

I don't see how approaching a suspect of a robbery is a violation of someones civil rights.

Still doesn't mean the shooting was justified, but more info will come out to hopefully give more insight into that.

So the first autopsy likely didn't give them the results that they wanted?

This is as fricked up as a football bat!

No reason to "order" a second autopsy unless you have good reason to believe the second one was botched or new information is brought to light.

Ordering a second autopsy because it doesn't fit your narrative or because the family wants another one will do nothing but muddy the water when it goes to court.

Actually this makes me think that they know it was justified and they are trying to muddy the water by getting conflicting autopsy reports to have a better case in civil case.

This sickens me.

Usually the family is given a copy of the autopsy report.

Didn't know in a murder investigation if that was the case or not.

Either way, they hired Michael Baden to perform a second autopsy and whomever the Feds have do theirs isn't going to be any better than him.
