Does this Craiglist sale for German Shepherds sound legit?

This seems very suspicious to me. $300 for full blooded and registered GS? I'm trying to find one right now and ran across this.

German Shepherd

Says they are registered with CKC. Who the hell is that?

Sounds pretty cheap, be sure they are legit. you want certifications for hips of the parents or some shite. I would expect to pay upwards of $600-$700 for a pure breed with all the certifications and shite (german heritage, not sure about the more "american" lineage of GSD)

We got one from the shelter a few months ago. They just don't have any german shepherds right now.

adopt from a breeder

Not sure that's how it works I'm pretty sure it's called paying thru your arse from a breeder.

CKC has a bad reputation. While many consider the AKC "elitists", they do demand more credentials for registration than just a photo and a promise.

Go check it out and use your gut feeling when you get there. Seems OK from the add but you never know. I thought GS were much more expensive than that but if they are "re homing" then they may want to get rid of them for some reason. Could be a good deal for you.

I'm willing to spend $1000 if that's doable for an AKC dog

I don't think they're allowed to put a price on them on craigslist so some just call it a rehoming fee.

I find it ridiculous when you see people trying to get rid of dogs on there and also seeking a fee out of it "hey this dog is a pain in my arse will you take him off my hands and pay me to do so?" Yeah frick you

Most full blood GS puppy will run you between $600-$1200, depending on the breeder, the bloodline of the parents, and the registering/medical fees. I'm actually looking for a black GS puppy, and my buddy (who has had one for about 6 mo now) said be cautious about people selling for less than $500, as it could indicate something being wrong with the animal itself or they're just flat-out lying to you about the bloodline. Good luck

Damn fine choice, Broke. The best dogs I've ever owned were German Shepherds.

They can be prone to hip issues... my dad has an 8 month old GS and just found out she has a bad hip.

That's pretty much what I expected for a good dog. I just don't want one that is fricked up somehow that I have to spend 5 grand getting fixed up

There is a German Shepherd in Albuquerque named Spike that will most likely be looking for a new home. He has some shite he is trying to forget.
