Just commented on the Ferguson, MO situation. He said there is never an excuse for violence against police, but there is also no excuse for police to violently break up the peaceful protests of citizens exercising their 1st Amendment right to lawful assembly.

Um....so rioting and looting are now classified as peaceful protests?

He told the people to stop looting and rioting.

Looting and rioting =/= lawful assembly.

.....what's the problem again?

That sounds like a safe, vanilla statement to make to appease both sides I don't really see the offensiveness of it.

How dare he say such a thing.

So he said the peaceful protesters are okay and should be left alone (there are many up there), but the looters need to GTFO?

I guess I don't see the contradiction here. Full disclosure, I didn't watch the presser.

Which has the effect of appeasing neither side.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it actually just kind of sounds "right."

So, should he have said nothing? Would that have made you happy?

I'm no fan of Obama's. but you're an idiot. Before the sentence you quoted he said it's unacceptable to use a tragedy as an excuse for looting and rioting- on the whole, his statement was perfectly reasonable.

His comments here seem on target, other than the idea that there is "never" an excuse for violence against police. That really depends on the police and their actions, doesn't it, Mr. President?

I think this is actually a great topic worth discussing.

You realize that when you criticize even the shite he gets right it takes away from your ability to criticize the shite he gets wrong, don't you?

What do you think Reagan would have said? Or Mitt Romney for that matter?

This was one of those times when it was next to impossible for obama to say the wrong thing.

Looting is bad. Peaceful protest is an American tradition.
