I can't think of many guys. He has Desean Jackson speed, but doesn't seem to be a one trick pony like him. In the era of big, physical receivers, I'm having trouble coming up with someone he compares to.

I'll take Harvin any day. Hope he doesn't get headaches though.

I can actually see the Steve Smith comparisons I have been seeing everywhere.

People bring up Steve Smith a lot with him. That may be a good comparison, although Steve Smith is more physical.

Idk. He's straight line fast, plus he's quick. I hear he's able to shift his hips upfield while his upper body is in the process of catching the ball. I hear he doesn't slow down when he makes his cuts. He's just built differently.

Couple that with sure hands and excellent route running, and you have a real weapon.

I don't get the Smith comparisons honestly. They may have a similar stature, but to me Cooks seems way faster than Smith ever was.

He seems way more Percy Harvin, Tavon Austin, Desean Jackson to me. Although he also seems like he could take a hit more than any of those guys as well.

He's a slightly bigger, more polished Tavon Austin IMO.

No one's ceiling could ever be higher than Arrington's.

Wasn't Smith running in the 4.3s out of college? I can't remember

Yeah, the high 4.3's, but still, that's pretty fast.

I've liked what I've seen from him so far. I actually really like how he protects himself from contact while still making the catch.

Cause he's 1" taller and 15lbs bigger than Tavon Austin

and He's 20lbs bigger than Desean Jackson

Percy Harvin is kind of a gadget player. Not really a true WR by definition.

As obvious at it is, Steve Smith is the best comparison. Can play slot, or outside. Can run by you, can juke you, can be physical with DBs.

Smith 4.41 40yard

1.51 @ 10 yards

2.51 @ 20 yards

Cooks 4.31

1.53 @ 10 yards
2.50 @ 20 yards

both are dealing with elite speed. You're splitting hairs otherwise.

And makes those tough catches.

I don't think he's as physical as Smith(yet), but he does appear to have a little more speed.

The upside is he is entering the league in the same year they are seriously cracking down on defenders grabbing the receivers. As long as he keeps working on beating the jam the sky's the limit.

Probably not, but IMO that's a good thing. Smith got away with it but truthfully, it's playing with fire when you are that size. A lot of times unnecessary. I'd rather see him take a Lance Moore approach and hit the turf before he is lit up.

What i meant by the physical comment: they both accelerate through the hole. A lot of times guys will slow up when anticipating contact. He isn't scared.

Gotcha. Yeah he doesn't seemed afraid to take a hit. And he holds on to the ball while doing so.
