Do you trust in Montee Ball to deliver?

In mocks he has been going as early as late 1st/early 2nd round. I scooped him up in the 4th round in my league. Thoughts on his output this year?
Bonus - Do you handcuff CJ Anderson or Ronnie Hillman if you take him?

I say Hillman gets the carries if Ball struggles, but that may be a high price for a handcuff. Anderson alreay has a concussion.

I don't.
That's why I waited til the /3rd/4thto get running backs.
You can get guys that are just as risky as Ball with far less cost.

I agree he is boom or bust, a lot of talk about him "falling down into the endzone at least 10 times" which I don't buy. He isn't a special talent just in a good system.

What does boom or bust mean in relation to fantasy football RBs?

Take these motherfrickers to task, Giraffe.
Ball finishes in the top 5 this year, by the way.

just saw you are in my tdfl auction and realized i will have no chance at landing ball, time to audible

I dont draft duplicate players on my teams, especially guys i get in round 1-5, so you don't have to worry

At least you'll have the chance to win one league...

And with a quarter of the upside.

Like who?
Which mid round RB is guaranteed 250 carries in the best offense in football?
I don't think people realize what we are dealing with here. Knowshon Moreno averaged 19 points per game last season... Knowshon Moreno, who was a castoff, who was almost cut.
He scored under 10 points twice last season in PPR leagues.
11 games over 14+ points
8 games of 19+ points
5 games of 25+ points
9 TDs from within the 5 yd line
11 games with 3+ catches
Ball is going to score consistent points, which is huge. On the ground, through the air, TDs, etc. Denver has the 2nd most goal line carries in the NFL since Manning came to town. Teams cannot stack the box. Think about.
No one can provide a legit reason why Ball could bust. He doesn't have to be some awesome running back.
These would be pedestrian numbers, probably close to the floor of DEN's RB:
250 carries at 3.5 ypa = 875 = 88 points
50 catches= 50 points
400 yards receiving= 40 points
10 combined TDs= 60 points
----------------------------
238 total points, or good for 10th among PPR RB
If Ball finished there, would he be a disappointment as a 2nd round pick?

you guys are crazy...getting ball anywhere past the mid 2nd would be a fricking steal

I don't know. I don't trust him as a top 10 pick, but that's where draftwizard has him.
I hope I'm not forced to pull the trigger on him.
I think there are a lot of intriguing options at running back, but only 4 I'd feel comfortable spending a first rounder on...Charles/McCoy/lacy/Peterson in no particular order
I feel like lynch is going to fall off the wagon, murray will be JG'd out of a lot of yards and TDs, forte, eeeeh. They get on the goalline and throw it, though not as much with tice gone.
for a top pick, I want a guy who will get all the carries, get the opportunities and produce. ball fits that description but he's an unproven commodity.
If I can't get one of those guys I mentioned, I will look to a jimmy graham/calvin Johnson type player or reach on a qb (manning or brees)

I'm pretty pumped to have gotten him in the 4th, if moreno can put up top 10 #'s, anybody can.

I don't. I'd rather Dez or AJ around that area.

except I've seen him going very high on computerized mocks
I won't start live mocks until later this week, but it looks to me like he's going to be a top 10 pick in most leagues.

Sorry, late 1st/Early 2nd.

A lot of people are going WR after the top 5 rbs are gone.
a lot even going WR/WR go first 2 picks.
