What were your thoughts when Nixon won the nomination in 68 after losing in 60?

Approved/Disapproved?

I don't think it can happen in the social media age.

I wasn't even a sperm back then. But I always thought Kennedy stole the election.

Were you alive with LBJ? I was ecstatic.

What does LBJ have to do with what the Republicans did?

Obama is terrible but I don't want McCain 8 years later.

1968-weird year. Growing up in the 60s was not easy-sort of scary times. But to answer your question, I was too young to know what was going on politically in 1960. In 68 I was not happy about Nixon in any way.

Why would you make an assumption with zero information about somebody you don't know?

Barry Goldwater pretty much echoed my thoughts when he said this:

quote:

Nixon was the most dishonest individual I have ever met in my life. He lied to his wife, his family, his friends, his colleagues in the Congress, lifetime members of his own political party, the American people and the world.

We are talking 1968. We did not yet know of 1972 - as in Watergate.

You are an idiot in the true sense of the word. Your post history is filled with grammatical, incoherent ramble. You should stop embarrassing yourself and quit posting.

Yes he did - Bush overcame all the typical corrupt DEM/gore election tactics.

In '60, Nixon did not challenge the theft.

As for the OP, I was delighted that Nixon was nominated in 68 and was even more delighted that he won. He could have been one of our greatest presidents - but he had a fatal flaw. I was crushed when it developed that he had lied to us.

I remember celebrating after hearing of Nixons victory, then being sadly disappointed when the shite hit the fan. My dad had to watch all of the watergate stuff, when I complained he told me that we hadn't impeached a president in a hundred years and he was watching it dammit.

That's a way different reaction from when Obama lies. His supporters throw a party.

The American left will never get over their butthurt over Al Gore's inability to hijack Florida in 2000.
