Cannot believe Celtic were reinstated. This happened a few years ago to a Hungarian team (I think in Europa League). They brought on a sub in good faith for the final few minutes with the tie well in hand at 4-1 on aggregate.

They were fined, but allowed to continue in the competition. The player in question for Legia Warsaw played the last two minutes with the tie 6-1 in their favor.

I know TN Bhoy will get on my arse, but that was a very poor decision by UEFA.

I can't speak to that situation, but IMO if you play an ineligible player, you should have to forfeit... I don't really have an issue with the decision.. I doubt many others would either, if it wasn't Celtic.

Who gives a frick. No one other than delusional Celtic fans think its the right choice.

The comments in the sky article are brutal.

in principal, it's easy to agree with you, but that's one of those fact patterns that makes you think the ruling is really unfair.

pissed about traveling to turkey tbh

UEFA also has a pattern of being a little unfair in general.. which one takes precedence?

Honestly, there may be facts involved that may make me change my opinion, but on the surface I don't see a big issue... and I don't care enough to investigate further, so I'll bow out of further discussion

Why not forfeit the single game 3-0 or something to that effect? Still punishes the team that played the inelligible player, but may not be the end all on something trivial as a couple illegal minutes and 1 touch.

They may have done that.

First leg 4-1
Second 3-0

Celtic through on away goals

Wow, a few UEFA officials must have gotten carjacked on vacation in Napoli. It's three straight CLs that every single draw has seen them get about the stiffest competition possible.

I really hope they make it past Bilbao to not let them have a leg up on Roma in the league race. m

Does anyone have a link that explains the CL process prior to group and subsequent europa process like they were talking to a 3rd grader?
