How can you omit Jon Lord or Booker T. Jones?

If it's in good shape, that thing is worth a small fortune and it's going to keep going up in value.

Definitely. If it's in good/fair condition and has the 122 Leslie, it's easily worth 7 or 8 grand. Easily.

Knock Yourself Out
Tower of Power - Chester Thompson solo starts around 14:00. If you listen closely, Rocco drops out and Chester Thompson plays bass pedals while soloing. He then does a clavinet\wah pedal solo. Pretty bad...

The B-3/Leslie Combo was one of the last great instrumental inventions. Having a B-3 & 122 on stage is like bringing a church choir, or the devil, depending on your taste.
B-3's best friend, Leslie the spinning speaker.

No Hammond B3 appreciation tread would be complete without a special mention of Sly & the Family Stone. Sly took the B3 from the back of the room and put it center stage in a funk/rock band.

Great thread. I love the Hammond B3…it's one of my favorite instruments behind the banjo and sax.
Roy Bittan brought the B3 into the E Street Band and listening to it live is a pleasure. Jungleland, Racing in the Streets, Backstreets are 3 that come to mind that feature some prominent organ.

Joe Krown is probably the most underrated B3 man in New Orleans' recent musical history.

How is he at Ralph's on the Park? Is it solo or trio?
eta: Nice clip of Krown, Walter Wolfman and Russell Batiste
