ESPN has notoriously undervalued upside/PPR guys. If your drafting with a bunch of average players (family league, HS firends etc.) This is what can happen:

(FFC ADP; Actual pick)

Picking 9/10

QB:
Romo (10; 10)

RB:
Gio (2; 4)
Ellington (3; 5)
Gerhart (5; 6)
Vereen( 4; 7)
West (9; 10)
D. Freeman (10; 14)

WR:
Green (1;1)
Dez (1; 2)
Antonio (2; 3)
Wright (7; 8)
Randle (10; 12)

TE:
Olsen (9; 9)
L. Green (13; 15)

I also drafted WR/WR/WR with my first 3 picks to show how dumb the "you MUST draft a RB in the early rounds to succeed" circlejerk really is. If you know the values of certain players, you're fine. Now obviously if im in position to get one of the top 4 I'm taking that. What I'm NOT doing is reaching for Zac Stacy or Doug Martin to be my RB1 at the end of the 1st, just to get an early RB.

FantasyPros Consensus Rankings vs. ESPN

Yup.

Most of us play in competitive leagues and don't have the luxury of "taking advantage" of shitty player rankings.

It's not a brag thread. I'm trying to prove a point, especially the 3 WR point.

I'm in my fair share of competitive leagues too. I'm just showing, if you're using ESPN's client you can value your way to a better team.

so the lesson you're trying to teach us is that if you play in a league where no one knows shite you can have a stacked team?

Thanks

You're RBs are terrible for a ten man league. You should have drafted one earlier

I suspect trolling here BUT not in a PPR league with those WRs.

This is what i was getting at. One of my few points. The players were only there to help with the illustration.

Well your QB is coming off his career best and is a health risk. Cowboys will be behind a lot this season so I guess that is a plus.

Your RBs aren't great but since it's PPR you'll make up a few points for all the TDs you'll lose out on.

WRs should carry your team if not you're probably not making the playoffs

Yeah I see your point, but my 1-4 RBs are all solid RB2s in a PPR league. If i can stream them off matchups, etc. I should be perfectly fine.

I put zero prep into snake drafts and draft of best available. Auction is where I pay the bills

You're team is good and obviously your wrs are awesome, but even in ppr your rbs are weak. The only one who will be getting goal line carries is Gerhart and he plays for Jacksonville

Ok, would you say its fair to say your 2 starting RBs, on the average team, would average about 1.5 TDs per week?

If we agree to that number, thats about 10ish points per week on RB TDs. I feel in a PPR, those (my) RBs will make up for that difference with the extra catches and receiving yards they get. Plus they are still going to score their fair share of TDs.

goal line carries are not what necessarily makes a rb good.
