Any negative to jump in on GE while its under $25 to buy and hold for a loooooong time? I haven't ever, and don't really know how to research specific individual stocks. I just know GE isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

GE is one of the very few blue chips that you'd have lost money on if you held it for the past 15 years...even with dividends reinvested.

Have you read this thread? LINK

I think someone like google or amazon would be a good buy and hold for the next few decades.

It is certainly not going back to its August 2000 high of $60 any time soon!

I support your idea. I am long on GE.

GE isn't a bad blue chip, but they aren't as well positioned in growth areas as they were in the past IMHO.

I wouldn't buy them.

Sold my GE stock 7 or 8 years ago. Let this particular Blue Chip go.

What does GE do to make money?

The answer is too long..... Move on to a stronger stock.

I had a big chunk of GE stock when the 401K options at GE were GE Stock or . . . GE Stock. My timing was terrible as opposed to those that were there under the Welch run.

It's been under $30 for a loooooong time already.

This board has historically been a pretty dependable contra indicator when it comes to buying stocks. GE is getting slammed pretty hard in this thread. I may have to go all in on GE if it keeps up.
