If I take tack strip that holds carpet down and tie-wrap a few pieces around the legs of my feeders, will it prevent this from happening?

Can't hurt the situation, I bet they'll still climb them

Grease the poles. No need to harm the coons

Nothing on earth will keep them from getting to that corn.

I have pictures of them standing one on top of another to make a ladder so that the top coon can reach the feeder and throw out corn for his buddies. Those jokers are smart.

I was thinking about using some axle grease, but didn't know if they could still climb.

I don't think the tacks will harm them too badly, probably poke their greedy little paws.

won't work. i tried it. i also tried razor wire and pipe insulation spiked with disposable double-sided razors. neither of them worked.
coat the legs with vasoline about once a month. this helps. i was afraid of the smell of axle grease.

They will figure out a way to get it, we have tried everything down at our place. We switched over to the taller protein feeders in hopes they wouldn't be able to get at it, but all we did was give them a place to chill

and sleep

and bang

and they can still get at it

We tried the strips. did not work. I have found a .22 works best.

I also have pictures of them swinging from a nearby limb (20 feet above and away) and jumping onto the top of the feeder, then hanging upside down on the side so that they can reach into the mouth and throw feed out onto the ground for their buddies.

My coons went to Harvard, apparently.
