Well he's Drew Brees. Our offense clearly wasn't the same as it has been in the past.

It really showed when he was under pressure this year. His accuracy % dropped when under pressure

I guess you missed my point. Since 2006, the Saints haven't had a superstar WR at all. Brees made every WR better just by being as great as he is. Brady brought no-name WR's to stardom by being as good as he is. I don't see Cam being able to MAKE WR'S a household name.

Steve was already a household name, but Cam revived Smitty's career completely in 2011

and he's going to make KB13 into a superstar

Manning, Rogers, Brady and Brees can make their receivers better for a reason- they're the best in the game

Yes they are.

No I don't and that is the category that Cam is in and always will be. You said before IN THIS THREAD that Cam would be UNREAL if he played on the teams of the top 5 in this post. You can't have it both ways. Again, you are a blind Carolina homer.

Cam will be the GOAT, PJ. You just won't admit because you are a Saints fan.

As much as I like to say "great QBs make WRs better", even the current elite 4 had at least one good receiver to help them out when they were younger. Steve Smith the last 3 years went for 3313 yards, there's no reason that Cam shouldn't continue to progress in the next few years if he's going to be an elite when Manning, Brady, and Brees retire or start dropping off.

Manning had Harrison and Wayne
Brady had Branch and Brown
Brees had Gates the last couple years in SD
Rodgers had Jennings

What??? Brady made them... They were decent at best. Just saying. And the Brees /Gates thing was OK, but to compare what he did in SD to New Orleans is just crazy.

no i didn't

Steve Smith had 4 straight 1000 yard receiving years between 2005-2008

he then decreased to 554 yards in 2010 at the age of 31, when everyone started saying he was now too old to be elite

then Cam arrived and 89 had two additional 1000 yard seasons, and in 2011 was considered one of the best WRs in the game yet again

but keep thinking Smith was still seen as a superstar in the two years prior to Cam arriving

Sorry he was. He may be a dickhead but was still money. I am NOT helping you with your fanatasy about Cam being as great as you think you will. Didn't Smith have some injuries those years??? I think so. BTW? Who was the QB at that time???

You sure it had nothing to do with yall having Matt Moore and Jimmy freaking Clausen as your QBs during those years? It doesn't take a great QB to make a WR like Steve Smith effective. You just have to be a little better than those two poor excuses for a QB.

By the way, I'm not trying to say Cam is below average. He's a good QB. But I think you're overvaluing him. It'll be interesting to see how he develops over the next two years. I think that will tell us a lot about him. But eventually, I see him reaching a Big Ben level. Not elite, but in that tier right below it.

I guess you could argue he revived Steve Smith's career because he came to Carolina and wasn't one of shittiest QBs of all time... unlike his 2 predecessors.
