We are staying at The Houstonian for the LSU/Wisc game.
Any suggestions for restaurants?:
--Friday night dinner (good wine list, cocktails)
--Saturday morning brunch
Thank you, nice people.

Brunch - BRC Gastropub is pretty good
Underbelly, Pass and Provisions, Capital Grille, Trulucks, America's, are all good picks for dinner
LIberty Kitchen could do both as well. I haven't been, but wife went for lunch and said it was great.
Ouise's Table is another good option.
Plus....you'll be coming during Restaurant Week/month many of the best restaurants in Houston have great deals

galleria has plenty of steak/seafood/italian places that are pricey but good ... kingwood's suggestions for brc and underbelly are spot on, though they're not in the galleria area ... but it's not hard to get to either one ... and check out the link he gave ... the expensive restaurants offer really good deals ... one other i'd add is giamacos, which is a short ride from the area ... hugos is also a great brunch place ... genuine mexican food, not texmex ...

check out el tiempo for good tex mex or el tiempo meat market for legit tacos.

Friday night dinner recs: Masraff's, Table, Caracol on Post Oak. While you're at The Houstonian be sure to check the bar for Pappy 20 & 23 if you're into that. They often have bottles of each.

The Grand Lux Cafe has a pretty good brunch if you want to stay in the immediate galleria area.
The Buffalo Grill also has a good breakfast a little further out on Bissonnet.

Massraff's for dinner on Friday
I would second Liberty or BRC for brunch. They're actually owned by the same people.
A lot of people knock on Pappasitos but I think their brunch is actually pretty decent. It goes until 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday and there is one on Kriby which is on your way to NRG/Reliant.
Eat here with Mrs. Mule most Sundays.

Little Jimmy's deli for the best sandwich in town.

You are very close to Uptown Park
Although the Tasting Room is the only place I've been too. Great if you want some wine and small plates.

Friday dinner-Reef probably has one of the most extensive wine lists in town and a good atmosphere, Provisions, Caracol, LIberty Kitchen(River Oaks, the Heights location is good, but LKRO is just better frankly), Roost, Hugo's, Underbelly I guess...I much prefer the food at the bar next door-The Hay Merchant.
Brunch-Hugo's, Caracol, (you should REALLY do either of these two on Sunday for the buffet), Backstreet Cafe, Liberty Kitchen, Common Bond, Benjy's,

Also, because people will ask...here are the bars you should check out if you're in town that weekend.
Patio Bars-Cottonwood, Cedar Creek, West Alabama Ice House, Celtic Gardens(if you're into the whole Midtown thing still), and the 1879823749832 Little Woodrow's around town, Bar Boheme(this place is kinda hipster, well really hipster, but they have good drinks, a patio, and put out great food), Hans' Bier Haus
Craft Beers-The Hay Merchant, Petrol Station, Mongoose vs. Cobra, D&T Drive Inn, Beer Market Company(I haven't actually been here but I hear it's got a big bottle selection), Moontower Inn(craft beer and gourmet hot dogs, you don't like this then get the hell out of my city)
Craft Cocktail-Anvil(Houston's original craft cocktail bar), Pastry War(tequila/mescal bar with craft cocktails centered around them), Julep(think southern cocktails, juleps obvs, cherry bounce, and cold seafood bar), OKRA, Lei Low Bar(if you have a hankering for big arse tiki drinks, come here)
For all the hipsters-Poison Girl, Bar Boheme, Grand Prize Bar, Little Dipper, Capt. Foxheart's, Big Star
Other bars that don't really have a "type" but aren't full of....shitheads typically-Local Pour, Liberty Station, Downhouse, Jackson's(I really like this place and it's patio, it's in my neighborhood, but when school's out it's full of frat stars, and I'm over that shite, take your Chacos and pastels and frick off kids)
If you want to dance with somebody-Hughes Hanger or Barbarella
If you are a shithead....go to Midtown...Celtic Garden is probably the best of all those terrible places down there.

Little Jimmy's? Best Sandwich? You must have bumped your head.
Local Foods, Common Bond, Revival Market, Central Market, Kenny and Ziggy's if you want an actual deli.
