You asked about Star Wars? I am sure that I'm in the minority in this, but I'm not a big fan. I was not born when the original came out and I hated the prequels. I think The Empire Strikes back is the only good movie in the entire series. I will watch the new one, though.
LOTR is like my Star Wars. Fellowship is my favorite movie of all time.

Greatness. 
I think TT and RotK are better made movies, but the experience I had when I saw Fellowship for the first time was awesome. I remember leaving the theater in amazement. Nothing will ever top it for me.

Best two and really the only two I tell people they have to see. Hurley was right, the Ewoks sucked.
Only time I was ever thankful for the Ewoks was when the walk to my afternoon class freshman year coincided with a cafeteria worked at USC that was under 5 feet tall and always wore a big fluffy winter jacket with the hood up. Even in 90+ degree weather.
