Portland needs/wants a worse team? This trade is pure Pelican homer fantasy.

Blazers lose two starting players for 1 starting player that may or may not even be an upgrade to their center.

Pacers would probably say yes, we would of course, but blazers need a 1st or something.

They need more than a 1st, they're in win now mode. It's actually not a bad foundation for a 3 way, Gordon for Hibbert, we just may need to find a 3rd team and maybe aim lower on the SF target. Unfortunately I can't find many options. Maybe the Lakers if you're ok with Nick Young/Wesley Johnson as the SF coming back. If Al Horford goes down to injury yet again, maybe Atlanta would be interested in Hibbert for DeMare Carroll. Maybe Milwaukee would want Hibbert and you could get Pachulia(to Indy) and Illyasova , and then give Illyasova a test drive as a Poor Man's Ryno before deciding which one to flip for a SF at the deadline.

Gordon for Hibbert,

If they hadn't gotten Asik, I think they might have been able to do Gordon for Hibbert straight up. But I don't think Hibbert fits with Monty's defensive philosophy.

But Portland just rode their starters to their best season in over a decade. They don't need to shake that up, they just need better bench players.

The Hawks with their offense have no desire to add Hibbert, Horford injury or not. The Bucks seem to be all in on Larry Sanders if the rumors about Kidd wanting him in BK are true. The Lakers have nothing of value to offer.

I don't think Hibbert has much of a market. I still believe he's very good on defense, but he can only be effective in a certain scheme. Not every team will want to play that way.

And I don't think Indiana is just going to give him away- they can still have a top 5-10 defense and win 45 games in the East even without George. It will be u-g-l-y, but it is possible

corndeaux is right about Jason Kidd wanting Sanders, supposedly Kidd pushed hard to get him in Brooklyn to do what he wanted to do, I forgot about that. Basically Indy is about as stuck with Hibbert as we are with Gordon.
