WTF

Our dishes smell like big foot's dick. I googled and a lot of people suggested putting Tang in there. Tang is that shitty orange drink mix. I have also tried that dishwasher cleanser stuff where you put the whole bottle in the empty dishwasher and run it. These have only temporarily helped, if at all. Our dishes smell exactly like a wet dog and it is repulsive. Any of you ever have this problem and know any permanent fixes?

Edit: The second response on Yahoo answers is pretty funny

quote:

you need to have a strapping young guy come to your house (such as myself) and pour clorox down the dishwashers drain. Then take a shower with the guy afterwards.

Stop running your pomeranian through the cycle and take her to a groomer like normal people.

Perhaps you have a Sasquatch sneaking in your house and masturbating with your china.

Timeout. They still make Tang? Looks like I have to make a trip to the Pigly Wigly.

Yeah but they don't put a picture of an Orangutan on the label anymore so it was harder for me to spot.

There was an article on CNN about how often (and how) to clean various items around the house.

Here is what they said:
quote:

Dishwasher: Every month

Fungi and black yeast can grow in your dishwasher. So while it may seem strange to clean the machine that cleans your dishes, we recommend you tackle this task often.

How to:

1. Disinfect it by pouring vinegar into a dishwasher-safe cup, then place the cup upright on (empty) dishwasher's top rack.

2. Finish by running a full cycle, using the hot-water setting.

Mix baking soda with water and pour it in. Follow up with a cup of white vinegar. It makes that volcano effect and will flush it out. Check the drain line going to your disposal and make sure it is clear.

Take the yeast from the dishwasher and use it to make a black lager.

Quit washing your dogs in the dishwasher a-hole.
